Who is behind Dunstan Photography?
Dunstan Photography was founded by Cam Dunstan in Christchurch in July 2021. Cam is the owner and lead photographer.
Jonathan Brown and Rahil Uddin are available for larger events and jobs requiring more than one photographer.
How much does a Christchurch photographer cost?
Photoshoots start from NZ$75 per hour. Larger bookings are quoted according to the time, location, number of photographers, equipment, editing requirements and overall size of the job.
How do I book Dunstan Photography?
Send the event or shoot date, location, start and finish times, the type of coverage required and any important details by email, text, the website contact form or social media.
Dunstan Photography will confirm availability, provide a quote and organise the booking.
Do you travel outside Christchurch for photography bookings?
Most bookings are in Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. Dunstan Photography also works in Auckland and is available throughout New Zealand when travel and timing suit the job.
How do payments and invoices work?
Invoices are normally sent through Squarespace on the next business day. Payment details and the due date are included on the invoice.

Do you photograph school formals in Christchurch?
Yes. School formal coverage can include arrivals, group photographs, couples, friend groups, staff, candid moments, the dancefloor and general event coverage.
Multiple photographers, lighting and backdrop-style setups can be arranged for larger formals.
Do you photograph corporate events and business conferences?
Yes. Corporate event photography can cover speakers, guests, awards, branding, venue details, networking and candid moments.
Coverage is available for conferences, launches, staff events and business functions in Christchurch and throughout New Zealand.
Do you photograph concerts, festivals and nightlife?
Yes. Dunstan Photography covers concerts, festivals, DJs, bars, clubs and nightlife, including performers, crowds, venue atmosphere and low-light moments.
Do you photograph weddings and private celebrations?
Yes. Wedding and private celebration coverage can include venue details, arrivals, guests, group photographs, speeches, candid moments and the reception.

Yes. Portrait and business photography can include individual portraits, professional headshots, staff photographs, personal branding, workplaces, products, services and content for websites and social media.
Can Dunstan Photography cover large events?
Yes. Dunstan Photography has covered private gatherings of around 25 people through to public events with crowds of more than 50,000.
Cam can work alone or bring Jonathan Brown, Rahil Uddin or additional support depending on the event.
What photography equipment do you use?
Equipment is selected for each job and can include Canon camera bodies, prime and zoom lenses, flash, lighting, backdrops and backup batteries and memory cards.
Larger events can include additional lighting, equipment and photographers.
Delivery and policies
What is included, when edited photographs arrive and what happens if plans or weather change.
What is included in a photography quote?
Depending on the booking, a quote can include photographer time, travel between locations, editing, equipment, lighting, backdrops, online gallery delivery and secure file storage.
Standard deliveries include a five-year Google Drive folder and backup.
How long does photo delivery take?
Most edited galleries are delivered within 3 to 21 business days.
Small portrait sessions are usually faster. School formals, large events and bookings with hundreds or thousands of images take longer to sort, edit, check and export.
What is the cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Cancellations are free up to three hours before the shoot. After that, a 25 percent cancellation fee may apply.
Rescheduling is free where possible.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If weather affects an outdoor shoot, the booking can be moved to a suitable indoor location or rescheduled at no extra cost.
Weather-related rescheduling does not incur a cancellation fee.
Can I receive the RAW files?
Edited JPEG images are the standard deliverable. RAW files are not normally included, but they may be available by request for an additional fee or in special circumstances.
